RJ & Ali have had a passion for partner dance styles since 2006, with experience and training in Salsa, Bachata, Tango and other partnered styles. In addition, they've trained extensively in both Standard and Latin ballroom styles such as the Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha Cha and Jive. In 2009, they chose to expand their focus, and delve into the Brazilian social dance styles of Samba de Gafieira and Zouk-Lambada. In 2014 and 2017, they travelled to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo to seek extensive training and knowledge from the originators and masters of these dances.
Ali has been teaching partner dancing since 2007, and RJ since 2010. Together, they've spread their love of dance around Australia through workshops and performances at various schools and Latin dance events in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide. Constantly, they strive to increase their dancing knowledge both in their core dance styles, as well as other more obscure dance styles. RJ & Ali also dabbled in Dancesport competition for a few years, managing to win B & C Grade Latin Titles at the South Pacific Dancesport Championship, Victorian Dancesport Championship, Geelong Classic Dancesport Festival and Nova Dancesport Festival. At the heart of it though, their main focus in teaching dance for the joy, love and fun that it can bring to people's lives. |
